Collection and Use of Personal Information: Certified Government Payments is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use our Web site. In order to provide our government payment services accurately, securely and efficiently, we must obtain certain personal information about you. This information typically includes some or all of the following: name, address, social security number or other personal identification number for a particular jurisdiction, e-mail address, credit or debit card number, expiration date and cardholder name, and jurisdictional payment information (e.g., amount of tax obligation to be paid). In addition, we may request certain optional information about you in order to enhance our services further, to help you use our services more effectively and/or to inform you about additional services that may be of interest to you.

Certified Government Payments collects personally identifiable information when you register for a Certified Government Payments account, and when you use certain Certified Government Payments products and services to make a payment. Certified Government Payments may also receive personally identifiable information from its resellers and other business partners. When you register with Certified Government Payments, we ask for your contact information (such as your name, street address and email address), as well as certain information pertaining to your payment, along with billing information such as a bank account and/or credit card number.

In the course of processing a payment transaction, we typically receive from the merchant or financial institution information related to the transaction. This normally includes information about the payment that a consumer has furnished while placing their payment.

Certified Government Payments uses the information collected to fulfill your requests to make payment and then to process payment transactions, to facilitate billing and otherwise deliver the online payment services. Personally identifiable consumer information is used to process payment transactions and for no other purpose.

Certified Government Payments does not offer services or sell products to children. Certified Government Payments does not request or knowingly collect personally identifiable contact information from anyone under the age of 13.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties: Except as described in the next sentence, Certified Government Payments will not willfully sell or disclose your customer identifiable information with third parties (without your consent), except as required by law or to respond to a subpoena or other valid governmental order. However, by the very nature of our service, we share selected information about you with the government entity or entities whose obligations you are using our service to pay and with the relevant card companies for payment authorization and processing purposes. We may share aggregated demographic information with our government clients and others for marketing purposes, but this information is not linked to any personal information that can identify you.
Certified Government Payments will send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when:

1) we have your consent to share the information;
2) we need to share your information to process the payment you have requested;
3) we need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Certified Government Payments to provide a product or service to you (unless we tell you differently these companies do not have any right to use the personally identifiable information we provide them beyond what is necessary to assist us).

Personally identifiable consumer information is shared with third parties (such as banks and credit card processors) to the extent necessary for Certified Government Payments to deliver payment processing services.

We also may release personally identifiable information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law; enforce or apply our Merchant Agreement and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Certified Government Payments, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and risk reduction.
In the unlikely event that Certified Government Payments is acquired, merchant account information may be one of the transferred assets.
